Hello Everyone,
Thank you for visiting Baby Gerren's First Webpage
January 19, 2004 ---- Gerren is 3 weeks old today - and we are all adjusting well. On average we are all sleeping at least 3 hours at a time at night - but generally its 4-6 hour intervals. Gerren is eating about 4-5 oz at a time and growing quickly - up to 11 lbs on January 15th. Corey is adjusting well to being a dad and is very talented in the feeding and diaper departments. Amazingly however, he is no longer able to hear him wake in the night......
WELL WELL WELL, Today is January 3, 2004! Day after homecoming after the long awaited arrival of Mr. Gerren Alan Jarbeau.
We hope you enjoyed the pictures above, they were taken in the hospital during our long stay. More should be added soon.
Anyone ready for the story?
Practically 3 weeks late and weighing in at 10 lbs 1 oz Gerren finally arrived to this world. It took 34 hours from the first pain of labor until the surgeon pulled him from my belly.
I awoke on Saturday night / Sunday Morning at 1:30 am with the first bout of restless sleep I'd had all pregnancy! Low and behold I was having contractions. At 1:30 in the afternoon on Sunday they'd developed to 1 minute in duration and 5 minutes apart. Knowing I'd be needing an IV and antibiotics for the delivery we decided to head to the hospital. At 9pm my water broke, at 10pm contractions really became strong. At 1:30 I took a shot of Staydol and slept for 3 hours - meanwhile contractions almost stopped. When I awoke we started Pitocin and pushing at about 6:30 - 9:30 with no progress. Decided at 9:30 to do a C-Section.
2 Nurses and the IV Team later we finally had the OLD IV removed and a New one in - lovely.
Time to go to the Operating room. Shortly after Gerren Joined Our World. We couldn't be happier!
Monday proceeded with feeling finally returned to my body and oh what a feeling it was! LOL Tuesday brought lots of visitors and happy faces. And a long sleepless night for Corey & Gerren. Wednesday brought high fever for Gerren and news that we would be staying till friday as we would be precautionarily giving him antibiotics for the fever. Thursday was nice and easy, and Friday we came home! And we are all doing well adjusting!!
Today is November 10th, on the 12th I'll be 36 weeks along. Tomorrow begins my every week appointments!! Just beginning to feel tired again, and a bit of a back ache on occassion. Other than that - still doing well.

On September 22, 2003 I took the Glucose Tolerance Test! Boy was I nervous. It wasn't bad though. The HORRIBLE Drink that everyone told me about turned out to be a really yummy Orange POP - it was carbonated and everything!! Results are presummed negative as I haven't heard from them yet!
Midwife Childbirth classes began on August 22nd also. Pray for rain every Monday for the next 5 weeks so that Corey can come to class too!
Our first ultrasound was on July 22nd and it went very well. It was too quick but exciting all the same. Here are some pictures:(click to enlarge)

Love and hugs to all!
